GIW Industries Opens New Foundry in Georgia, USA
GIW Industries, a subsidiary of German pump manufacturer KSB, has officially opened a new foundry in Grovetown, Georgia. This marks the largest investment project in the company’s history, with a total of $75 million, including $40 million dedicated to the foundry itself.
The facility, which became fully operational in summer 2025, spans 4,650 square meters and includes advanced heat treatment and melting furnaces, sand silos, and six cranes. Its 22-meter ceiling height allows for the production of large components, especially for GIW’s high-performance slurry pumps used in the mining industry.
The foundry has an annual capacity of over 9,000 tons, with some cast parts weighing up to 20 tons. GIW Industries, which has been part of the KSB Group since 1988, currently employs 614 people across its Grovetown and Thomson locations.
The new facility is a strategic move to meet growing global demand for white cast iron pumps in mining applications, ranging from mineral processing to wastewater treatment.
